Manchester City, gunning for the domestic treble, visit Old Trafford in a massive derby for both sides. City are currently on second place on the table with one game in hand whereas United are three points back of the fourth and final Champions League position.
The stadium, once visiting would had nightmare playing in, has lost its fear factor according to the city manager. City had such a poor record in the past at Old Traffod that their team failed to win there between 1974 and 2008. But this record has changed in the recent past. They have now won fice of their last seven games at Old Trafford in the premier league. Guardiola said: “I don’t make theories about what happened in the past for what is going to happen in the future. Every game is completely different. The reason why is the fact this club in the last decade grew a lot and it’s not scary to go there”. He added: “Before it was maybe more difficult. But the players Manchester City have had in the last decade have made this game a little bit more equal. The only question is the Premier League, winning the title. In the three seasons since I’m here, we did better than them, but here it’s about winning the title, not beating United”.
Having lost the last game against Everton 4-0, United fans would be hoping the recent views of the city manager can bring a reaction to the main players of United who seem to have lost the joy of playing for United.
